Farm Notes — July 2022: Parsley Grows Huge, Young Taro and a 20-Year-Old Sheep

Every few days we post a short clip from the farm on YouTube. Here are all twelve from July in one place — tap any of them to play it right here.

Chicken moments

A classic chicken moment: a cock-a-doodle-doo stolen right out from under someone. One hungry bird couldn’t wait and grabbed the food early, the chickens ate fresh papaya the wild way, and one tried hiding its head without hiding its rear — then hopped onto a back. And is that a famous jingle, chicken version?

Looking back

From the archive: Taro, Marble and Piccolo in their younger days, and Taro in a very good mood. We also looked back at Kirin, a cockfighting survivor, who got far too relaxed while he was in quarantine for treatment.

Sheep, ducks and wild birds

A 20-year-old sheep lives on the farm — close to a record? Can you see the young red-vented bulbuls waiting for their mom in the papaya tree? Parsley the duck has grown huge, and the month closed with a sunset sinking behind the mountains.
