Good morning from Chicken Paradise. Another blue sky today, and everyone loves their mash.
Cutie No. 1
Everyone, please remember this one: this is Cutie No. 1. Her trademark is her feather pattern. Her feathers are fairly long, and each one has a lace-like design — a pattern, then another pattern inside it, then another inside that. Such lovely feathers. (Ouch, ouch! Not very cute right now.)
Cutie No. 1 is one of the twenty-something Easter Eggers I bought, so naming everyone took quite a while. At first I just kept saying how cute she was, because her cheeks were so fluffy, and before I knew it she had become Cutie. Then, looking closely, I realized there were two of them, so they became known as Cutie No. 1 and Cutie No. 2.
She lays a fairly deep, sky-blue egg. Blue-egg layers are VIPs around here!
A question for Mint
Interview time with Mint the duck. Why do you fly so much? Please tell me — do ducks really fly this much? Mint’s answer: “I’m special. I’m different from Japanese ducks.”
Cutie No. 2
Next is Cutie No. 2, the one who looked just like No. 1. They don’t look exactly alike anymore. Here’s how to tell them apart: her feather pattern is a little muddier than No. 1’s. It’s the same lace style, a pattern inside a pattern inside a pattern, and it’s quite crisp near the front, but the farther you go toward her back, the blurrier it gets, until you can’t see it at all. That’s her trademark. Like No. 1, she has fluffy cheeks — and she has the scarier face of the two.
As I said last time, I honestly didn’t notice at first. I believed there was just one Cutie. Then one day: Cutie on the right, Cutie on the left — oh, there are two! I really had no idea. Sorry, girls. She also lays a fairly deep sky-blue egg, so she’s a VIP too.
It’s hard to see, but a wild chicken was trying to settle in for the night up in a tree.
That’s all from me, Pen-chan and a cucumber. Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise — I’m going home to eat this cucumber now. See you in the next video!
