Good morning from Chicken Paradise Hawaii — it’s me and Pen-chan. Blue sky today.
Opening time
Good morning, everyone! When I opened the chick room, one came out to nibble my fingers. And you — you’re missing feathers. Something’s off.
Then the ducklings. The door wouldn’t open… there we go. You may come outside today. Please come out! I’ll go get some food. They’re starting to follow me a little.
A duckling back on her feet
And today, the duckling with the bad leg came out of “hospital” at home for a little while. It was this leg. Anyway, her foot now opens out flat. She’s still a little wobbly, so I’ll let her swim for rehab and heal her slowly from here.
Her legs are still weak, but in shape, she’s now a normal duck. Go for it, little duckling! She has enough energy to move around, and she loves a bath. If she keeps up her rehab at this stage, she should get better. Surrounded by her siblings, she’ll do her best.
Pruning and new sprouts
I felt like it today, so I pruned the dead parts of the flowers.
Here I planted new cucumber seeds — and they’ve already sprouted! The leaves haven’t opened yet, but this is definitely a baby cucumber. I planted six for now, and I’m just praying they all come up properly.
Growing a pineapple
We have lots of funny Hawaiian-ish things at our place, so I planted a pineapple. Here’s how. Buy a pineapple at the store, take it home, twist off the top, and eat the rest. Put the top in water and leave it for a few weeks, keeping the water clean. One day, roots suddenly appear. Once there are enough roots, plant it. That’s all!
Almost everyone who lives in Hawaii seems to know this one — it’s an old trick. Ask any grandpa or grandma around here how to grow a pineapple and they’ll teach you this way. For some reason it works quite often. Just be careful: if you forget to change the water, it rots fast. Please give it a try!
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise Hawaii! See you in the next video.
