Good morning! I’m so busy today! This one has an injured leg, so he moves slowly, but he’s spending time with everyone. Then I opened up the chicks’ area — and something was watching me the whole time.
Tiny finger limes
Here’s our finger lime plant. It has fruit now: one, two, three tiny ones, about 5 millimeters long. They’re so small it’s hard to believe they’re fruit at all. I’m told they’ll get bigger from here, so we’ll wait patiently. Hang in there!
Happy’s status report
Happy has grown up! I rescued him and cared for him three months ago. Somehow he grew up to be a real scaredy-bird, always trembling. And hands are especially scary.
Beautiful feathers that shine purple and green have grown in around his neck, and he looks more and more grown-up.
He’s now living at the farm, so I gave him this cage. It’s a little narrow. I hope he can fly in the open sky someday — but first he has to get over thinking that everything is scary. That’s Happy’s update!
The apple-eating championship
Then it was time for the First Apple-Eating Championship. The first group was Team Egg-Laying, plus the ducks and a few extras. Once they got into the rhythm, the apple disappeared quickly — the clock read 9:30 when they were almost finished.
Next came the Second Apple-Eating Championship, with Team Chibi (our little ones) and roosters of all kinds. Their pecking was weak… and no, that’s not apple, that’s my fingernail! The clock read 14:10 when they were almost done.
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you in the next episode.
