Good morning!
First night in the big room
Last night, our second-generation chick team — Marron, Chako, Ponyo, Cloud, Banana and the others — spent the night in the bigger room! How was it, everyone? Are the big sisters and brothers scary? Yeah, they are. They’ve frozen stiff. And for some reason Peach, just over his cold, is mixed in with them.
The chicks from a friend’s house have grown up too — five of them? — and I put them in a room. They seem to find it cozy, because nobody’s coming out.
Look, everyone: Brownie’s band of followers keeps growing. On top of the first five, there’s now a brown one who gets picked on a bit, and… is that DEE from the other room mixed in over here? It looks like it.
Saying hello around the flock
How are you, Nuts? Your claws are getting a little long. Long time no see, Gin-chan — you’re going to be in the video! He cares more about the ground. Salt, it’s been a while. Yesterday you complained loudly about not wanting to go home — forgotten already?
Glico, you’ve been doing well lately — good enough for a show. Good morning, Star! Who’s that, Ace or DEE? It’s Ace. Then Monarch, and Mint.
Here’s a hen who was caught in a residential area deep in the mountains. She has a bluish sister called Blue 1, so she’s Blue 2 — named because their mother was bluish. She herself isn’t blue at all. And this short-bodied one is, I think, Kareli. I don’t quite get the naming sense, but the pattern on her back is interesting. Ilima, you’ve gotten so big! Those are pigeons, they’re not dangerous.
A new mother and her chicks
Today we welcomed a new chicken family: this black hen and her chicks — seven of them! She was living in what seemed to be a neighboring field and tearing it up, and there were complaints, so we decided to catch her for now. The mother is a real beauty, and funnily enough she looks a bit like some of our own birds.
Five of the chicks are whitish and two are brownish, in a brown I don’t think I’ve seen before. I can’t know if they’ll all grow up healthy, but for now they can still squeeze through the mesh, and they’re happily going in and out. The chicks decided there’s no food in Mom’s cage, so they went into Uncle Carl’s. It looks like Carl had babies! How did that happen?
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you next time.
