Everyone’s favorite, Star, has all his feathers back at full length, his pneumonia is gone, and he’s in top form right now. Look at that hairstyle, long again! Well, long or medium… whatever you call it.
He’s in such good shape that any rooster who comes to bother him gets put in his place in an instant. Impressive! Star is a fancy breed and shouldn’t be that strong a fighter, but thanks to Heart’s training, he’s full of energy.
Feeding time
Everyone was hungry again today. I was rushing to get the food ready and some of it fell onto a chicken’s back (sorry!), but they just ate it from there, all together. Then I share it out onto the plates. Where each bird can eat depends on its rank.
While being pestered by the other chickens, I also bring food to the birds in cages. One got lured by the food and walked right in. Bee comes to get hers directly from me. I split the food into small portions and set out several, so the whole thing takes a while.
My own tool set
This is a little late, but I bought this power tool set as a Christmas present to myself, combining donation money from all of you with Christmas money from people I know. I’d been borrowing tools from a friend all this time, and I really needed to give them back, so I got my own.
Time to open it! Want to watch, Natsu? No, Natsu is after a rat. Ta-da! It comes with a bag, and everything’s already packed inside. A thick manual (how many languages are in there?). Two shiny drills: one for making holes, and one for actually driving in screws. Then a very important one: a power saw, a cool black new model, with the blade included (attaching it looks tricky). And a rechargeable light. I often work in the dark, and my usual headlamp runs on disposable batteries, which feels wasteful, so this is better. The set also has two batteries and a charger. With all this, I can manage.
I looked at quite a few other kits, but this one was the best value, and there’s no point buying tools I won’t use, so I chose the one with just what I actually want. I also lose things a lot, so even though I don’t usually buy things by the register, I couldn’t resist a drill bit set with a cute carabiner from the same brand.
Then I plugged the charger into our solar battery to see if it would charge, and the light is blinking! Amazing. This is fun. Thanks for watching, and see you next time!
