Another Downpour: Sawdust on the Floor and Fuyuto’s Mischief

Watch the episode (in Japanese)

Good morning! We had another huge downpour. There was a heavy rain and flood warning, thunder crashing over and over, and rain pouring down and running off everywhere. It’s finally clearing up a little, but the floor has turned into terrible mud again, so for now I’ve spread sawdust over it.

Everyone inside, and a very slow “good morning”

The weaker birds try to sleep out in the rain, which is dangerous, so I caught as many chickens as I could and put them in the coops. That means I can film a “good morning” again today.

Someone asked in the comments whether the door was broken. It isn’t! It’s just a hassle to shut everyone in, so I’d been letting them come and go freely. When it’s dangerous, the door is closed.

First, the little ones’ room. Good morning! Why so sluggish? You can come out! Nobody comes out. It’s as if they’re saying, “We’re not having any trouble in here.” A duck even tries to go back the wrong way, into a room that isn’t the duck room. Since nobody’s moving, I take the chance to check inside.

This group is so slow to react that I head over to open the big ones’ room. Good morning! Oh, yes, that’s it: run, run, fly, fly! Why is everyone so laid-back today? Their bellies are full and the coop is comfy, and there are lots of roosters in there. Oh well. They all know that whether it’s a typhoon or anything else, they’re safe once they’re inside. Nice and peaceful.

Fuyuto, you rascal

Fuyuto is bothering the chickens from outside the playground. He came by once earlier, too. Fuyuto! Bad boy! That’s not allowed on this farm. Hang in there, new duck! Just in case, the netting is doubled. Fuyuto, no cat-like behavior!

Natsu, by comparison, is very well-behaved. Her face has started to look a little gentler.

Bath time for the dog

The dog was dirty, so I’m giving it a bath. We’ve done this a few times now, so there’s no fuss. And one onlooker takes a double look, as if to say “What are you doing?”, then backs slowly away.

Thanks for watching Chicken Paradise Hawaii, and see you next time!
