Every few days we post a short clip from the farm on YouTube. Here are all thirty-one from May in one place — tap any of them to play it right here.
Guinea fowl on patrol
Guinea fowl are the farm’s alarm system, and now that there are more of them, our security is even better. Our eight new guinea fowl are getting along great, and they’ve decided to follow two big sisters, the hens Pog and Maple. Today’s guinea fowl captain is Maple — and they’ll follow her wherever she goes.
The rooster corner
Peach and Yamabuki have become unusually good friends lately, and Hiyo-chan is taking his job as farm leader very seriously. Rooster politics can be tough, though: the pecking order got turned upside down this month, and Twinkie, a bully, found himself on his own (calm down, Twinkie!). Rida stretched out in the room while the strong rooster was out, Mochi may think he’s a human (go play with the chickens, Mochi!), and Seven-Eleven, the rooster who once had no tail feathers, is doing fine. The big roosters turned out to be mellower than I imagined, Charles looked sweet at sunset, and André sang us his song.

Hens and eggs
Our chickens have plenty of room but still crowd together — maybe being close feels safer. It’s been a rainy spring, Luna went broody in a big way (don’t push yourself, Luna!), and sitting on eggs really is hard work — hens are amazing. Paris, a beautiful young hen, has a little love story of her own, and the big hens love the cozy room too. We also lined up goose, chicken and quail eggs side by side, and the legume trees are full of nutrients and keep growing, so the chickens can eat all they want.

Ducks and Fifi
A small, cute duck reminded me that life carries on. Fifi saw who made a mess (it wasn’t her!), the ducks had a cute little squabble, and it turns out our sweet goose doesn’t like earthworms. Then came pool opening day, and the ducks and goose had a wonderful time.
Farm cats
Ao is the biggest cat on the farm, with a kind heart to match. Imo and Light have been best friends since they were little, and one cat took a risky walk along the netting. The farm cats are full of love — thank you, everyone.
Thanks for following along with life at Chicken Paradise. New clips go up every few days on our YouTube channel.
