The Grape Deliveries Continue — Please Don’t Bite!

Watch the episode (in Japanese)

The grape deliveries continue! I’d just given one to Mint when Sonata tried to take it right out of Mint’s mouth. No!

Grapes for everyone

Cho, want some? Cho can only see out of one eye, which is a real handicap here. Then a fight suddenly broke out — but grapes fixed it. Solved! Next, the weaker team. Some of them are wild and get scared if I come too close, so I threw from far away. Nice one, Pog! A guinea fowl and his “retainer” scuffled over one. It had been a long time since their last grapes, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

The Shiratama team’s youngsters are starting to look like hens, but they had never seen grapes and didn’t know what to make of them. Only Shiratama noticed! Then Isobe and Mitarashi had a go: come on, grab it, it’s delicious! And soon everyone learned how good grapes are. One landed right on Basil’s back. Luna is a bit clumsy and kept losing hers. Melona can only see out of one eye and is afraid of people, so hers got stolen too.

Then the wild-born ones, who weren’t used to me at all at first. Their breasts are smooth and bare, like eggs, so I call them the Eggy team. There are about five, and I can’t tell which is which. Salaryman stole one of theirs.

Meet Tsuyoshi

Tsuyoshi is a timid rooster, and our very first “move-in applicant”: he came to us as a youngster, wanting to live here. His bones seem to have been weak from the start; when he arrived his legs weren’t very bent yet, but in the end they did bend.

Even so, he’s living strong and healthy, which is why his name is Tsuyoshi (“strong”). He has grown into a perfectly normal, beautiful rooster — and he got his grape, too.

Around the coop

Kini, here’s a grape. Suzume is living like a little old lady, asleep all the time; are you okay? Crossbeak, our veteran mother, didn’t come down. Plumeria had some, and Oreo got a present while busy laying an egg.

In the little ones’ room, someone got angry at Heart. Never underestimate small beaks — ouch! Kombu and Wakame, Purin (that head is the same size as a grape!), Namiko, Glico moving slowly, Lavender with a very strong bite… and where did Nazoko, just recovering from being sick, go? I’ll have to look for her.

Thanks for watching Chicken Paradise! See you in the next episode.
