Good morning! How are you, Marron? You’ve gotten so pretty. Good morning to you, too.
A surprise sunflower
Here, where we planted vegetables, a sunflower had been growing on its own, and it actually made seeds! Yay! I wasn’t planning to plant them or eat them, but I’m just happy something worked out. It’s covered in aphids — so many that maybe I should put a viewer warning on this — and there’s a regular fly on it, too.
Ta-da! Hmm, normally sunflower seeds have white stripes. Maybe they aren’t dry yet? Let’s open one up… Ta-da! Beautiful white seeds. They’ve grown really well.
The taste test
First, let’s have Sora the chicken try one. Hello, Sora, want this? You can’t see it, can you. Here, I’ll put it down. No, no — it’s right there! Open your eyes a little more. “I can’t see!”
Pen-chan, do you want some? She threw it away! It’s gone… How mean! It fell into the abyss. I’ll go get another one.
Our chickens don’t really like sunflower seeds, so there’s nothing for it: let’s ask the guinea pigs. Somebody come out! Extra fluffy today. Ah, Kumato is coming out. Want some? First, a scare (someone behind me startled it). Here you go… and it threw it away. So sad.
Java sparrows eat seeds, so surely they’ll eat sunflower seeds? But they’re nervous and timid, and won’t let you watch them eat. Okay, I give up — I’ll just leave it here. Oh, is it curious? I think it’s tasty! It’s saying something, while pigeons fly around in the back. Let’s step back a little. In the end, they didn’t eat as much as I’d hoped.
Natsu and Iroha
Since Iroha arrived, Natsu hasn’t been able to relax. Iroha wants to play with Natsu, but Natsu seems to find it a nuisance. I always treat them fairly, but a curious puppy will still pester you when you least expect it.
When Natsu was little, she used to pester Pen-chan and got told off for it — Pen-chan was Natsu’s teacher. It’s funny to watch. I’m sure what bothers Iroha is Natsu’s moving tail. And there’s the cat punch! I guess it will be like this for a while.
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you in the next episode.
