Good morning! Basil, out of my way. It’s so hot that some birds don’t want to come out. Come on out!
Morning rounds
When I opened the chick room — Waikiki, you’re not a chick anymore. Come on out, Cloud. You too, Marron. It’s fun outside! Then Waikiki wandered into someone else’s house and snacked on their food.
Next, the ducklings: it’s a brand-new corner for you! Not this way — out that way. Outside is interesting. Sonata, please don’t come in, you’re scaring them. They seemed to need a reason to come out, so I prepared some water for my picky customers. How is it? Good. So many ducks!
The middle chicks got a new water station, too. Heart seemed unusually pleased, as if saying thank you for it.
In the garden
I planted Okinawan sweet potatoes in the garden. The cucumbers are coming back a little — uneven, but the chickens won’t mind. Purple sweet peas are blooming, and the broccoli has flowered. We ate some of it at home. The flowers are so cute!
The ducks laid eggs. At this hour it’s so hot that the chickens don’t want to leave their rooms — they know what they’re doing. Even with the doors open, only a few were out, and it was the same in the boys’ room. Maybe the bigger rooms are more comfortable now. Chive was mixed in with them.
One day, while the ducks were splashing in the water, a hen and her chicks came by. With the ducks bathing, the little family panicked. Taro watched it all from up high.
Help for a little leg
This is one of the ducklings our neighbor gave me the other day — with a bit of poop on her back. For some reason her right foot was curled up like a dinosaur’s foot, and there was nothing I could do, so I asked a professional in that field for help. They wrapped it, and now her foot is open flat like an open hand.
Her leg seems a little weak, and she can’t walk properly yet, so we’re starting treatment now. I put a little buddy in with her so she won’t be lonely. The treatment takes some work, so I’m taking her home. Let’s do our best at home.
Thanks for watching Chicken Paradise! See you next time.
