Good morning! Everyone came straight out — and headed straight for the spot where the pigeon feed falls.
A special gift
Someone I know shared some feed with us — feed made by a chicken farm in Japan! Yay!
First, I did the taste test myself. Pen-chan came when I called, so Pen-chan can try next. Wait a minute… It’s good! Plain and simple — it tastes like there’s nothing unnecessary in it. It reminds me of something… maybe a rice cracker without salt? I don’t know exactly what’s in it, but I can see corn, and maybe there’s rice bran too. I’ll check the farm’s website later.
Now it’s Pen-chan’s turn. Is it good? Could you not scatter it everywhere? Apparently it’s delicious. Usually Pen-chan doesn’t eat what gets scattered on the floor, but this was so tasty that every bit got eaten. Good for you, Pen-chan!
Snack time for the flock
Next, the chickens inside. It’s a snack! This is precious food, so please eat it nicely — don’t gobble it down. The same birds who were just telling me they’d had so much of our usual food they couldn’t eat another bite are digging in. It was getting messy, so I mixed in water to make it the way they usually have it. If they’re eating, it must be tasty.
The aunties’ verdict
Then the aunties. Kuromame, are you really eating that much? Everyone came over, curious about the unusual food, and there was a big commotion in the back. Chobi, is it good? Na-chan, your crop is already full — look at it! Ha-chan, eat this, it’ll give you energy.
Toast loves rice — Toast! But Toast is so small that Toast ran off rather than get trampled. Then a gang of little rascals who don’t appreciate their food came crowding in. Don’t mix in the dirt, please — eat a little more elegantly. Glico is eating too. Ha-chan, how is it? Unusually, Ha-chan is eating it all instead of sharing. It really is very good feed.
Everyone ate so much. I wish someone would send feed like this to Hawaii!
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you in the next episode.
