Every few days we post a short clip from the farm on YouTube. Here are all fourteen from August in one place — tap any of them to play it right here.
Pen-chan and the hens
I followed Pen-chan to see where she was going — and look what was at the end. I helped a broody hen calm down from sitting mode, Pen-chan, now four years old, let out a classic hen’s cluck, and today’s nest box made me look twice.
Everyday chicken life
On hot days a splash of water is the best — summer means pool time. There was some secret training, a furious mood that switched off in an instant, and proof that chickens can move one eye at a time like a chameleon. The chicks played happily in the sandbox, and we met Walter, a rescued cockfighting survivor.
Cat corner
On International Cat Day: “I completely give up!” Then came cats vs. chickens, and a question about our cats: how long will these symptoms last?
