Good morning! Huh, nobody’s coming out? Iruka is checking that it’s safe… Because of the heat, maybe it’s cooler inside the coop. Very unusual. As always, a slow start. The new mother hen and her chicks are doing well and getting used to their surroundings, with Uncle Carl watching over them. Someone’s even riding on a back. So cute.
The bananas are growing
Our banana plant has gotten big — no, way beyond big. How big will it get? The person who brought it told me four meters (about 13 feet). Four meters? Apparently the top leaf will reach four meters, and the spot where the leaves come out will be about three meters. Huge! And this was supposedly the smaller banana. Smaller how?
It’s growing very beautiful leaves. Come here, Natsu — let’s compare you to a leaf! He hates it and is wriggling away. The trunk has gotten this thick, too, and it’s so smooth and pretty.
Now the other banana. This one is lovely too. I was told it’s a tall banana with long, thin fruit. It’s certainly thin, but not very long yet. Supposedly this one will get even bigger. Really? Natsu, ask it for me: “Will you really grow big?” (And please don’t stop to think halfway over the fence.) Both have beautiful leaves. Grow up healthy and big — I can’t wait to eat bananas!
The roosters’ turn to molt
The hens have finished changing their feathers, and now it seems to be the roosters’ turn. They all look ragged! You still don’t have a tail? If that last bit falls out, you’ll look like a quail.
Here are Kin-chan and Gin-chan, named “Gold” and “Silver” for the color of their necks. They’ve been with us forever. And that’s Iruka going wild over there — he’s Pen-chan’s nephew. His personality is a little… silly?
A correction: the first Chick Open Team
Last time I mistakenly called Marron’s group the first Chick Open Team. Marron and friends are actually the second generation; the real first Chick Open Team is this group. Chicks, launch! Where are you going? Ilima and Salt, Pepper, Sugar and Spice, and others, plus the “1.5 generation” who joined partway. They all love stealing the pigeons’ food. That blue container is the pigeons’ food! They all protested loudly: “That’s obviously a snack!”
Someone’s gotten so pretty! Pepper, though, has turned into a troublemaker. What will it be, Pepper? Keep rampaging and end up in a private room, or settle down and become a fine rooster?
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you in the next episode.
