It’s Already Fall, but Here’s the Last Watermelon of the Year!

Watch the episode (in Japanese)

One more before the season ends

Watermelon season in Hawaii is almost over, so before it ends I bought one more for everyone to enjoy. Around here, watermelon has to be handled like a hazardous material! The guinea fowl weren’t here last time, so this is their very first watermelon.

This one is Hawaii-grown and seedless — an easy-to-eat watermelon. Let’s open it! It’s the last watermelon of the year! (Not that the chickens care.) Basil, don’t shove people. Heave-ho… there! Somehow it looks much redder than last time.

Here you go. Basil, what kind of eating style is that? Tasty? Good for you.

Delivery for the aunties

The other half goes to the aunties in the room over there. Here you go… oh no, the aunties are too short to reach it! I didn’t expect that. Last time I bought a round watermelon. Let me set it down — there, now they can get to it from the ground.

The ducks are eating it. It wasn’t for the ducks… well, okay.

Gin-chan, aren’t you going to eat? He wandered off. Maybe he’ll come back once things calm down. The aunties are so ladylike. Come on, everyone, how is it? It’s the last watermelon — please savor it properly!

Big sister Purin isn’t fussing at all, just gobbling it up. Purin, is it good? No comment — too busy eating.

Who’s eating, who’s not

Nuts — our first-generation Nuts — aren’t you going to eat? You don’t seem to have any energy today. I wonder what’s wrong.

A big one is coming. Opal is so tiny. Opal, aren’t you eating? She ran off! She’s so small that when she hid behind something, I couldn’t see her anymore. Here she comes, here she comes!

And a little auntie with her eyes crossed in concentration. Are you eating too much? Did the watermelon show up just when you’d already overeaten? She’s squawking and angry. She’s always angry with me!

Eat up! There’s so much watermelon juice. Everyone keeps pecking away at it bit by bit. I bet this will be gone in a few hours, too.

Well then, please enjoy! Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise.
