Cat Towers for Our Farm Guardians, Bananas for the Hens

Watch the episode (in Japanese)

Good morning from Chicken Paradise Hawaii — it’s me and Yagisuke, our little goat. It’s cloudy again today.

Bananas after the storm

Our banana plants held on through the storm, and I think we have about five bunches. Many leaves snapped in the wind, so, sadly, I’ll cut those off.

Cat towers for the cats

Everything is still a mess after the storm and the cleanup is taking a while, but I brought over some cat towers I found that someone had thrown away. Lucky is on top, Sapphire is in the middle, and Hanabi was there too until she vanished. There’s one here, another over there with Scorpion on it, and I managed to fit one more inside the cat room.

How is it? Not a single complaint, by the looks of it. I’m sure they’ll get a bit dirty, but everyone is enjoying them, so they’ll stay outside. One of them is getting rather chubby, by the way — look at all that fluff!

Bananas for the chickens

Meanwhile, Barbie is attacking our staff member. Barbie, you’re not supposed to be out! Why did you get out again?

The weather isn’t great, so bananas for everyone. Purin, where did you go? Come on. Lavender, Lilac, Nuts, and Pearl down below — a little bit each, since there isn’t much today. Even in bad weather, the hens are dutifully sitting in their nest boxes. Good girls. And again, an egg on the floor. Whose is this? I’ll take it, thank you.

Inside the coop is a bit nicer, so lots of birds are sheltering indoors, Mitarashi among them. The ducks are covered in mud. But Mint, who had turned grey, has been washed clean by the rain — she’s pure white again!

Meet Sapphire

Sapphire is a boy who has only recently started going outside. He’s a rather stylish cat — apparently a flame point. He was found inside the engine of someone’s car, and that’s how he came to us. He has never meowed, not even once.

Those blue eyes! And he never gets angry, whatever you do. Because his eyes are blue, bright daylight seems too much for him, so he’s usually squinting — but when they’re open, they’re the most beautiful blue.

Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise Hawaii! See you next time.
