Good morning, Hiyo-chan! It’s a beautiful day today. And here’s something everyone loves: bananas! There are so many bananas!
Bananas for everyone
Chickens don’t eat banana peels, but Basil does. Not many of the birds here now were around back when we used to have bananas, so they’ll have to learn from the others.
Here comes Pachita. Pachita, you’ve never seen a banana before, have you? Oh, the ducks have started a big fight. Pachita, that’s the peel! The peel isn’t tasty.
It’s been a long time since we’ve had bananas, and everyone already has a wild look in their eyes. The little ones have small mouths, so they complain unless I hold the banana for them. Whole chunks get yanked off and carried away.
Ouch!
You have to peel it before you can eat it. One bird jumped up and bit me, right on top of a wound. Ouch! It’s the newcomers who aren’t used to people that hurt, because they hold nothing back. The ones who’ve been here a long time and were raised with care are gentle, but the ones who came from the wild don’t think about humans at all. This one came from the mountains, and so did this one.
Oh, Glico got some! Glico loves bananas so much that I wonder which is the favorite, bananas or bugs. If I hand out big pieces, the big birds just carry them off. Purin, you don’t need to leap at me, I’ll give you some!
A rooster’s true nature
You eat far too much for a rooster, Piccolo! Piccolo doesn’t have the spirit of sharing with everyone, and that’s why he’s forever number four.
Now watch what Heart does. He breaks the banana into small pieces for everyone and hardly eats any himself. It’s all muddy, but still! When bananas come out, a rooster’s true nature shows. Until then, you can’t really tell whether he’s a gentleman or not.
Chico, on the other hand, isn’t bothering with appearances and is gobbling everything. You’re no gentleman at all, Chico! Chico is usually number three and so dignified, but not with bananas around. Heart finally eats a little… or is he just licking his beak? Eat, Heart! This is why Heart is number one.
Star finally shows up. Our champion is late and hasn’t quite noticed the bananas. Are you okay? Can you see? Threatening the camera won’t help. There’s banana right there on the ground!
