This is Shimako. She loves sitting on the hay. I’d like to take some hay… but she won’t move.
Around the coop
Our egg girls have finished being broody (that’s when a hen sits on her eggs to hatch them). Only the youngsters are eating right now, nice and peaceful. Sonata! And here’s the first cock-a-doodle-doo from Hiyo-chan that I’ve caught on camera.
Someone got poked by a duck… Big little Chibi and Sweetie seem to be in a good mood.
Grey’s little comeback
Grey, who is a bit like a grandpa and a bit like a baby, has made a comeback! Protected by the fluffy hens, he tiptoes around so he doesn’t get near the roosters. He moves just the way everyone else does, as if to say, “I’m a hen.”
I hope he keeps going on this good path and really recovers. The one in front of him is trying hard to pick a fight, but let’s just ignore that. No more pointless fights.
Youngsters and a foot check
The five half-grown chicks have left their parents, but they’re still going “peep peep.” Full house again today. Tamamushi has been a bit of a rascal lately. He’s actually a pretty strong fighter, but he’s still afraid of his seniors. The corn is running out…
Compared to the chicken we just saw, Toast is so small, about the size of a wild bird flying in the sky. Toast, you’ve got mud balls stuck on your feet. A little souvenir! I’ll take those off for you. Your nails have grown really long, too. Please wait a moment. I know, you don’t like it! All done. While I’m at it, I’ll check the soles of your feet. It’s been raining again and there’s mud everywhere, so it sticks to them. Finished! Were you making all that fuss because you needed to poop?
Evening
It’s getting toward evening and everyone is relaxing. Heart called out that there was corn, and everyone gathered around. How kind you are, Heart. Then Heart went off to call the others too.
Another peaceful day. Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you next time.
