Good morning! Everyone’s already out. Mint’s feathers need cleaning up. Good morning over here too — and some of the hens are laying in the nest box.
Fermented feed
Chick time! When one comes out, the rest follow — is that a habit? Next, everyone’s favorite: fermented feed. Just mix it with water and leave it, and like magic, the nutrition triples. How is it, Satoshi? It smells a bit fermented, but it’s fine. Say something! Cutie gets some, and Ichigo and Turmeric too. It’s exactly the same as yesterday, but when someone is stirring it, it looks delicious, doesn’t it? The feed usually runs out within a day, so I top up the birds in the private rooms every day.
How the new middle chicks spend their days
The middle-sized chicks are scared of the adults, so they rest up high — here in the playground, they made it all the way up. Once they’re used to the place, they’ll come down. You’re big, but you still feel like babies, don’t you? This is how they get used to the farm. Good luck! Even one adult squeezed all the way into this enclosed spot. Does it feel safer?
The lettuce in the field was ready, so I harvested a whole head and put it in. The ducks were far pushier, and Team Chicken was overwhelmed. To get the little ones some, I cut it in half for them. It was so popular it vanished in an instant.
The black one is Ponyo, the white one is Cloud, and the brown one is Marron. Marron is about two months old now and in the middle of his voice changing. (The strange voice you hear right now is a different chicken, though.) This is Banana. A mismatched team, but they get along great.
Garden news and a visitor
The banana tree I planted at the back of the farm has grown. I was told this kind stays short with a thick trunk, and somehow it seems much healthier than the other one. Yay! The tomatoes Dolly nibbled now have flower buds.
And these aren’t stray dogs — they’re stray chickens, helping themselves to the leftovers of Marron and company’s food. I tried to catch one, but it was too quick. Do you want to move in? It looks like it has a bad leg, so I’d like to take a look at it.
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise Hawaii! See you in the next video.
