Kirin’s new room
Long time no see, Kirin! His leg is doing better, so he has moved to a bigger room: a maisonette-style place with a perch. An upgrade! His leg was broken when we took him in, so he’d been avoiding high places, but he has recovered and moved on up. There’s grass, and he looks happy. Can you use your nice perch? We’ll see how it goes for a while. Have fun!
Good morning! Are you hungry? It’s been a little cold lately. Good morning to you too — the sturdier you are, the more cheerful you look. Thank you for the eggs; I’ll take those.
A playground for the guinea pigs
Hello! Today I’ve been quietly building a playground for the guinea pigs on my own, and it turned out surprisingly impressive, so I’m filming it. What do you think? It’s about 60 centimeters high, maybe a bit more. This part isn’t attached yet, but it will be fixed to the wall, and this side too. Inside I’ll lay down grass and make it nice.
I’m not sure about this part yet — netting from the outside, or the inside? I’ll stretch netting over it, and then the inside becomes a safe zone. Our guinea pigs have been increasing, so I want to finish it nicely and give them a big playground. Kiwi, any comment? …Silence. So, on to finishing it!
Mealworm festival
Here’s Banana, who has found a nice sandy spot and is enjoying a good dust bath. And now the mealworm festival is underway! (No, this is not fast-forward.) I’m handing out live mealworms, and the reaction is completely different from ordinary food. They move so fast! Everybody loves mealworms — how do they all know when I haven’t told them? The quiet ones get trampled and have a hard time, so I’ll give them some separately later. (Overprotective, I know.)
Meet Purin
Sister Purin, what happened to you? You look so ragged. “Isn’t it obvious? I’m molting.” If only she’d say something that graceful.
When this one molts, she runs short on blood, gets hungry and gets into a terrible mood, so she’s been taking it out on people and complaining nonstop. She’s small, so she gets overwhelmed by the big birds and can’t get to the food. Purin is all huffy today.
Well then, let’s have another fun day taking it out on Star. Just kidding!
Thank you for watching Chicken Paradise! See you in the next episode.
